The St. Thomas Aquinas Chapter of the National Honor Society is a chartered and affiliated chapter of this prestigious national organization. Membership in the National Honor Society is offered to juniors and seniors who meet the criteria established by the National Association of Secondary School Principals. These are: scholarship (cumulative GPA of 3.50 or above), leadership, service and character. The preceding qualities of potential members are determined by a comprehensive application for admission.

The Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica is an honor society for high school students enrolled in Spanish and/or Portuguese, sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese. 

The mission of the Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica is to recognize high school achievement in Spanish and Portuguese and to promote interest in Hispanic and Luso-Brazilian studies.

Our School Chapter is known as Capítulo Jorge Mario Bergoglio, named in honor of Pope Francis.

The National English Honor Society (NEHS), founded and sponsored by Sigma Tau Delta, is the only international organization exclusively for secondary students and faculty who, in the field of English, merit special note for past and current accomplishments. Individual secondary schools are invited to petition for a local chapter, through which individuals may be inducted into Society membership. Immediate benefits of affiliation include academic recognition, scholarship and award eligibility and opportunities for networking with others who share enthusiasm for and accomplishment in the language arts.

The Rho Kappa National Social Studies Honor Society is the only national organization for high school juniors and seniors that recognizes excellence in the field of Social Studies. Our club encourages an interest in, understanding of and appreciation for social studies.

The Student Ambassador Program is a leadership opportunity for a selected group of students who represent Immaculate High School at various school and admissions functions. Immaculate’s student ambassadors are our best advocates. A student ambassador is enthusiastic, articulate, involved in the life of the school and a leader. This program involves a commitment of time and energy and will help develop your leadership, public speaking and interpersonal skills. The application process is in the summer of each year, with ambassadors accepted and trained in early September.

This club is designed to help international students increase their sense of belonging, improve their English and social skills plus enhance their confidence and academic performance. The elected domestic students act as mentors to support our new international students in their new environment, promote intercultural exchange and foster meaningful relationships between international and domestic students. Domestic mentors learn leadership development, improve global awareness and empathy plus gain lifelong intercultural friendships.

The Bee and Quiz Bowl Club allows students to compete against their peers and other schools in various academic competitions. These competitions range from fun games during club meetings to much more serious and formal competitions, such as the Connecticut Geography Challenge run by Central Connecticut State University. The club's main focus is currently geography, but expansion into other academic areas in the near future is very possible.

The Youth Medical Impact Club is a student-led organization dedicated to empowering the next generation of medical professionals. Through the club, members will have the opportunity to earn valuable certifications such as CPR, volunteer in real-world medical settings and gain access to exclusive scholarships in the healthcare field.

From the Greek meaning the study of the home or house or, more specifically, to examine the interrelationships that exist between humans and the other aspects of the Earth's living systems. We will examine some of the broader issues that bear on how humans are part of the Earth's web of life and the role we play in shaping and affecting it.

CyberPatriots was created by the Air Force Association to inspire K-12 students toward careers in cybersecurity or other science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) disciplines critical to our nation’s future. Teams are given a set of virtual operating systems and are tasked with finding and fixing cybersecurity vulnerabilities while maintaining critical services.

Our Mustang Media Club is a multi-media organization, combining creative writing, journalism, broadcasting and visual media. Our primary goal is to offer a platform for students’ creative writing and journalism – plus exploring investigative procedures, as well as broadcast/podcast opportunities. Members of this club will create an online publication, explore recording podcasts and create a hard copy of creative writing and art (photography, drawing, etc.) at the end of the year.

The French Club (Cercle français) is an active, enthusiastic group of students who enjoy French and cultural activities related to the language. Activities such as but not limited to: make a French music playlist, French karaoke, French baking and cooking, put on a French bake sale, host a French movie "night," French scavenger hunt, arts and crafts and French book club. These are all fun and relaxed activities that will help you practice your spoken French and connect to others in the French-speaking community. No level of French is too little to join!

The American Sign Language Club is open to anyone interested in ASL! Our goal is to foster a love of Deaf culture and to create a community for those who want to promote ASL and Deaf culture. Participants include students with a wide range of ASL experience, from beginner to advanced. You do not need to know ASL or to be enrolled in any ASL courses to participate.

Student Council is an organization of student leaders whose primary focus is to represent their peers and act as a liaison between the students of IHS and the faculty and administration. Student Council is responsible for planning student and community service activities throughout the year. Activities include: organizing the Freshman Social, Homecoming Dance, Rake and Bake, pep rallies, student/faculty basketball game, IHS Annual Walk-a-thon, and all school dress-down days to benefit selected causes (i.e., Wounded Warrior Project, Relay for Life, Books for Christmas, Toy Drive, and Spiritual Life). Officers are elected each spring and consist of President, Vice President, Treasurer, Events Coordinator, Communications Coordinator and International Ambassador. In addition, homeroom representatives are elected each fall. Officers meet weekly.

Youth Volunteer Corps (YVC) is a youth service organization that creates and supports quality youth service opportunities. Its mission is to engage youth in team-based service experiences that build life and work skills while inspiring a lifetime ethic of service. YVC began in 1987 as a summer service program for Kansas City youth.  

Today, YVC is a network of affiliates across the U.S. and Canada running that same program by engaging youth ages 11-18 in team-based, structured, diverse and flexible service-learning opportunities. YVC affiliates are hosted by credible nonprofit organizations, hosted by YVC Headquarters directly, or are independent YVC programs. Immaculate High School is honored to host the Danbury Affiliate of YVC. The program is open to all students in Grades 9-12.

Bracelets for Benefit is a student-led initiative dedicated to creating and selling handmade bracelets to raise funds for primary and secondary schools in Kenya. Our mission is to provide much-needed resources to these schools, including a portable library to promote literacy and supplies for prize-giving events that celebrate students’ achievements. We believe that through small efforts, we can make a significant impact on the lives of students in Kenya, helping them access quality education and rewarding their hard work.

Healing Hearts and Hands Club is an after school club for students interested in careers in the field of medicine, nursing, social work and physical therapy and giving back to our community. Some of our activities include guest speakers sharing their expertise with us in their field of medicine or nursing, toy drives, making blankets, stuffing and sewing heart pillows, bake sales, after school blood pressure clinics and helping with the school’s annual blood drive. We also put together cards and gifts for patients in local nursing homes.

The IHS Drama Club, as part of the Performing Arts Department, produces a fall play. We welcome anyone who is interested in theater arts to participate, even if you have no experience! We rehearse after school and the show is presented in December. We also need people behind the scenes - including help with our stage crew, scenic design, costumes and hair and makeup.

There is no experience necessary to be part of the Art Club! This club is open to all who love art and want to learn more about art and pottery. We do have a wheel and kiln for those that are interested in clay. Bring your own project or try something new. We also assist with events around the school that need a display.

The Band Club is geared towards instrumentalists of classical music, rock and other genres. Instruments can include the piano, voice, violin, electric guitar, drums and cello, among others. Join our club for jam sessions of your favorite music!
