Our Distance Learning Plan

Distance Learning 2020

Although We Miss Each Other, Social Distancing Has Only Brought Us Closer!

The COVID-19 epidemic has interrupted our lives but has also made us appreciate everything that makes our school community exceptional.  We are grateful to the parents of our students for their support of our mission to continue to provide an excellent college preparatory Catholic high school education for their children.

On March 12, administration, teachers and staff rolled up their sleeves to identify how to enhance an already existing Distance Learning Program that has been used for school closings due to severe weather. We were the first high school in Danbury and surrounding areas to be prepared to meet the challenges of a comprehensive, successful virtual learning program.

Although a fluid process, the collegiality and collaboration has resulted in designing a remote educational system that is working!  Our school infrastructure, school-issued technology devices used by students and teachers have enabled us to conduct daily course instruction using Microsoft Teams, Google Classroom, e-textbooks, virtual science, music and art labs, Adobe suite and more.  Students begin their day at 7:50am with morning prayer and follow their full four-day rotation schedule by remotely signing into their classes at their regular scheduled time.  Teachers are using their whole classroom, small group and individual teaching strategies and assessments as if the students were in the campus classroom. In addition, our peer tutoring and our academic support programs as well as our counseling services continue using Microsoft Teams.
