Mass of Remembrance and Online Prayer Requests

On Friday, November 1 (All Saints Day), our school community will remember and pray at a special Mass of Remembrance for all of those members of the Immaculate family who have passed away. We will pause to remember in prayer and gratitude the lives of those who, although no longer here, remain close to us through the Communion of Saints. Our prayers for them also deepen our faith in God's love and our hope of sharing in life eternal which Christ has prepared for us. To help us include as many of the Immaculate family as possible in our prayers, please visit www.immaculatehs.org/morprayer to share the names of deceased loved ones you wish to remember. These lists will be placed in the Chapel and special remembrances will be made during our liturgy on November 1, as well as at daily Eucharistic adoration during the month of November. Thank you for helping us to build an environment of Christian faith and Gospel values in everything we do at Immaculate High School.

Special Food Drive to Help Young Danbury Students

Immaculate High School will now assist Rogers Park Middle School with their "Weekend Backpack" Program.  This program distributes food to students on Friday afternoons so that they will have food for the weekends. Without this program many students would go through the weekend with nothing to eat. The CT Food Bank can no longer supply food for this program, so it is up to us to help. Immaculate students will bring in requested food items for the next few weeks to help these children and their families. Immaculate students are always there to help those in need!

Senior Retreat, Guest Speakers Enlighten Students

While underclassmen took PSATs on October 16, seniors took part in a special retreat at Tarrywile Mansion. They heard from guest speaker Kevin Johnson, who helped students think about “who they are meant to be” and shared stress relief techniques to use in high school and in college.

After the retreat, the seniors joined the underclassmen for a special presentation by Renata Bowers, author of the Frieda B. series of children's books.  Mrs. Bowers addressed students and faculty about discovering who we are and what we are meant to do, and reminded us that “every one of us has a one-of-a-kind, never-before-told, amazing and very important story." Quoting Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future," Mrs. Bowers asked us to reflect on what we are good at and what we care most about, because the answer to these questions will help us pursue our God-given purpose in life.  For more information about Mrs. Bowers and her program, go to  https://friedab.com

Immaculate Students Care!

On October 20, Halas Farm Market in Danbury sponsored its annual Paint-a-Pumpkin Fundraiser in support of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), and Immaculate students heeded the call for volunteers! The event was sponsored by the Halas family, including Mike ‘84 and Laura Halas, Madison Halas ‘19, Emma Halas ‘21 and Michael Halas Jr.

The Halas family has raised over $300,000 for the JDRF in the 14 years that they have sponsored this family-oriented event at their business. Thousands of children and adults alike have enjoyed the Fall-themed activities, food, raffles and entertainment over the years, with all proceeds going to help find a cure for juvenile diabetes and its complications.
