Mustang Monthly

Spring has sprung at Immaculate, and our campus is beautiful!

A month of Shakespeare!
-Freshmen classes have been busy on creative projects related to their Shakespeare text analysis. They created masks to symbolically represent dynamic characters from Romeo & Juliet.
-Sophomores have been creating body biographies for Macbeth and Lady Macbeth to hang up in class. They will be adding notes and symbols to these life-size models as they continue their study of Macbeth.

Ava Viola ‘24 and Anna Kopec ‘23 were the recipients of the Connecticut Association of Schools Fine Arts Award for 2023. Both received beautiful plaques for their artistic contributions to our Immaculate community.

The Brave Engineers of Immaculate High School won the Connecticut Governor’s Challenge and went on to win the Real World Design Challenge National/ International Challenge Competition! We are proud of the time and effort they have put into this competition.

Congratulations to this year’s CyberPatriot team for a great year! We thank Aiden Doolabh ‘23 for his mentoring throughout the season. The team was rounded out by Seniors Andrew Brenner and Anna Kopec, Juniors Bradley Darlucio and Charles Roman, and Sophomore Melena Ventresca. We look forward to watching their progress next year! A group of students spent an afternoon last week outside in the sunshine learning about local plant life, setting up our compost and helping get our campus ready for spring. We send a heartfelt thank you to Junk-King of Danbury for sending bins to load our refuse in.

Right before spring break, our chemistry lab students researched the reason behind adding vinegar to the mix when coloring eggs? They discovered that the vinegar reacts with the eggshell weakening it and allowing it to absorb more of the color.

Our Chemistry students also spent time this month examining gas laws and the effects between pressure, temperature, volume and moles.

Our staff, musicians, cast and crew of the new IHS Production of Disney's Newsies have been working tirelessly to bring you an amazing spring musical this year! They have also been on tour doing their musical numbers in the IHS Dining Hall and at the IHS Gala, Saint May's School in Bethel and Saint Gregory the Great School in Danbury. There are two shows left this weekend, but they are almost sold out so if you are interested click the button below.

“We need to help our children, nurture them, guide them, and inspire them … so children can grow up to be productive. Otherwise, humanity won’t be able to continue,” said Dr. Fong, who has served on the Board of Directors at Immaculate High School. Read the full article in the Newtown Bee by clicking here.
