Jake Windas Eagle Scout Project

Jake Windas '22 completed his Eagle Project (Troop 52) with help from the International Women's Pilot Organization - the Ninety Nines by designing and painting a traditional compass rose air marker at the Danbury Airport last month. Jake began this project last spring, meeting the challenges of Covid related delays and obstacles with initial planning, requesting and being granted airport and city council approvals, securing donations and much coordination. Both Scouts and women pilots (some who flew in that day) took advantage of the warmer weather to help construct this landmark identifier. Great work Jake!

Student of the Month - Religion

The Religion Department has named sophomore Seamus Reidy as the Student of the Month! "Seamus Reidy is a conscientious student who has a firm grasp of the course material in our Theology class who enjoys working with difficult concepts. It is his enthusiasm in class, however, that makes him fun to teach. He often asks thoughtful questions that reveal a deeper understanding of the material than most other students his age. Seamus also demonstrates his understanding of the Gospel in how he treats others both in and out of class. It is truly a pleasure to teach a student like Seamus Reidy," says his teacher."  When asked how he feels about being named Student of the Month, Seamus said "I am honored to be named Student of the Month for Religion. My faith is the most important aspect of my life and I am always eager to learn about it. I thank God for this recognition because He is the reason behind it." While the Sacraments have been Seamus' favorite part of his Religion class this year, his favorite subject in school is Science. He is fascinated by the human body and how intricate it is, so he is very interested in learning how it works. Seamus would like to encourage anyone who is considering attending Immaculate to come and join the tight knit community. He says that everyone gets involved and faith is at the core.
