Stephanie SOM

The Career and Technology Department has named Stephanie Antonios ‘22 as their Student of the Month for December. Stephanie was chosen by her Accounting teacher for her genuine interest and natural affinity for the subject of Accounting. Her teacher says “Stephanie frequently participates in class discussions, asks appropriate questions, and demonstrates a sincere interest to learn.” Stephanie is honored to be named Student of the Month, and says that Accounting is her favorite subject because she sees herself pursuing a career in accounting or a related field. When she is not excelling in the Accounting classroom, Stephanie is a Student Ambassador, Advancement Ambassador and is a member of the National and Math Honor Societies as well as the Bridging the Gap Club.

Physical Education

Dominic SOM

Dominic Chila ‘23 has been named the Physical Education (P.E.) Student of the Month for December. Dominic was chosen for a variety of reasons. His teacher says “Though competitive by nature, Dominic displays a great deal of sportsmanship during team activities and always gets the others in class involved without hesitation. He is a model student with a great attitude and work ethic. There is never a complaint from Dominic regardless of what activity we are doing. Dominic is a pleasure to have in class.” When informed of his recognition, Dominic was happy and honored, saying that he loves P.E. class because it allows him to workout in school and stay active and fit. Dominic is very involved at Immaculate as a Student Ambassador as well as a member of Rosary Club and Brain Trust Club. He played J.V. Basketball last season and is looking forward to hopefully playing this season as well.

National Honor Society Induction

Congratulations to the 60 students who were virtually inducted into Immaculate's chapter of the National Honor Society. "It’s unfortunate that we can’t celebrate as we usually do, but these students should be proud to be members. It's more than just academics: these students provide many hours of service to the community and are leaders among their peers," says Dana Pickney, advisor of the National Honor Society. Abby Giansiracusa Named to All State Chorus

Abby Giansiracusa All State

Congratulations to Abby Giansiracusa ‘21, who has been named to the All State Chorus! The Connecticut Music Educators Association holds regional vocal competitions for middle school and high school students every year during the fall semester.  There are three components to the competition. Students must prepare and sing a selected Italian Aria, as well as sight sing and sing two scales and arpeggios.This year, the competition was held virtually. Abby was one of seven Immaculate students to participate in the competition this year. The next round that Abby will compete in is Eastern Regionals. Congratulations Abby!
