Counseling News

The Jesuit Excellent Tour (JET) visited Immaculate this fall. It was a fantastic opportunity to meet decision makers and gain insight into over 20 colleges and universities.

The Counseling Department hosted its Advisory sessions for IHS students in November. Topics included: Understanding your Transcript & the Academic Journey, Career Exploration on Naviance, Brainstorming your Resume and College Scholarships. All of these sessions have been designed to equip our students with the tools they need for the college admissions process and beyond.

College Visits and a Leadership Conference

The Immaculate Scholars Program introduces our freshman and sophomore classes to colleges and universities to prepare them for their upcoming decisions. The Program recently brought a freshman class to the Yale University Campus for a tour. The group saw an Immaculate alum during their visit!

A group of IHS sophomore scholars also took a trip to Trinity College as part of their college visits. Information about the admissions process and campus tours with current Trinity College students were included.

Students and advisors took part in a Leadership Conference at Southern Connecticut State University with a full day of interactive leadership training tailored to bring out the students' unique talents and leadership skills. Sessions included communication, diversity awareness, problem-solving and decision-making.
