Mustang Monthly

Counseling News:

Last week a group of Juniors loaded onto the IHS bus bound for UCONN for an all-day tour. The students gained valuable insight into the institution through an information session conducted by two UConn students. It included a broad overview of degree programs offered at UConn, housing, financial aid, application information, support programs, study abroad information, clubs and extracurriculars. They also took a campus tour of Gampel Pavillion, the student union, library, recreational athletic facilities and the Israel Putnam Refectory where they were treated to lunch!

During lunch they met with IHS Alum Anna Flaherty '22 for a few minutes and wrapped up their visit with a visit to the bookstore for a little shopping.

In other counseling news:

This month the department held the first of its College Planning Workshops. Students have been visited by members of the Counseling Department giving them a laundry list of invaluable tips, advice and important dates they will need for the college admission process. The next round of workshops are scheduled for May.

If you are anywhere on the first floor this month you will have heard the periodic party that breaks loose right after an enthusiastic bell ringing…what is it, you ask? It is a time-honored tradition at Immaculate that every time a student is accepted into a college there is a small celebration in the Counseling Department…it might be the sweetest sound we have ever heard and it is a tradition we are going to have for years to come!
