ONE TO WATCH

CIAC shares, senior softball catcher Sara MacKinnon (Danbury) is “One to Watch.” Last spring, Sara slashed .574/.618/.1279 (1.896 OPS). She had 22 extra base hits in 35 hits! At the April 25 game against Weston, Sara had 3 hits helping the team to win over Weston 16 to 7. BOYS TRACK QUALIFIES FOR NIKE NATIONALS EE 

Congratulations to sophomore Nicholas Paris (Bethel), senior Walter Brady (Sandy Hook), senior Thai Sapenter (Bethel), and junior Chad Doto (Danbury)  for qualifying for the Nike Nationals EE in the 800m SMR at Hillhouse today! The 2022 Nike Outdoor Nationals will be held Thursday, June 16- Sunday, June 19 at Hayward Field at the University of Oregon.

 

MASC CAR WASH SUNDAY

Join us Sunday, May 1 from 12-3 p.m. at the IHS rear parking lot for the MASC Car Wash.Tickets will be sold by our spring athletic teams and you can also buy tickets online - please bring your email receipt to the car wash. Proceeds will benefit the spring teams and to help with the purchase of a new scoreboard in Mustang Valley.

CONGRATULATIONS NIKKI (WEISS) CONTE '07 - CGSCA HOF

Nikki (Weiss) Conte, IHS Class of 2007, was recently inducted into the Connecticut Girls Soccer Coaches Association Hall of Fame at the Aqua Turf in Southington, Connecticut. During her time at Immaculate, Nikki achieved many soccer awards and honors. Nikki earned All-SWC and All-State ‘03-’06, All-New England ‘05 and ‘06, and All-American in ‘06. As the team’s goalie, Nikki helped her team win four Class S State Championships, with no goals against the Mustangs in ‘05 and ‘06. Nikki was IHS’s women’s soccer captain in ‘06  and ‘07, while being named the Class S State Tournament MVP in 2006. Athletic Director Nelson Mingachos (pictured with Conte) describes Nikki “As one of the most imposing and by far the most decorated athletes to come through Immaculate High School. As a coach I am proud to have been a part of her athletic career. Nikki represents all that Immaculate embodies: hard work, faith, dedication and family. No one is more deserving of this prestigious award.”

 

SENIOR DAYS BEGIN

 

April 26 was Boys Varsity Tennis Senior Day. Congratulations to these dedicated athletes and their families. Be on the lookout for more Senior Days honoring our student athletes in May.
