This Advent season has been more than decorating our hallways and lighting our Advent wreath; it has been a prayerful time of reflection, hope and joy.  We joined together for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception with Mass celebrants Rev. George O’Neill and Deacon Jeff Font and gathered together in prayer and remembrance on the anniversary of the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy.

When needed most our school community has exhibited creativity, courage, and an unwavering concern for each other. Students have embraced the need to take the time to reflect more than ever this year and took the initiative to demonstrate their love and care for our Immaculate families and Danbury community in so many ways. Food drives, coat drives, toy drives, fundraising for children diagnosed with cancer, delivering dinners to homes of fellow students whose family members were ill with COVID-19  or had experienced job loss, supporting the homeless programs in Danbury, and delivering some holiday spirit to our local neighborhood provided heartfelt joy to those who benefited from their efforts.

In addition to giving to others, we have been busy celebrating our student accomplishments as well as welcoming 110 new students to the Class of 2025. Over the winter break, we will be reviewing our academic program offerings for the 2021-22 school year and broadening our over forty-five extra-curricular activities. Our winter sports program is scheduled to begin on January 19 using the CIAC and SWC COVID-19 safety guidelines. Both our annual drama production, Medea, and spring musical, WE WILL ROCK YOU, will be offered virtually.

During this season of giving, I would like to thank each of you who supported Immaculate in some way these past few months. Your generous gifts of support, donations and the many recent generous gifts to our Immaculate Fund support our excellent academic programs and personalized learning opportunities for every student. We are very proud to have been able to offer a very successful hybrid learning experience for our students without compromising the quality of student learning. In a year that has been unlike any other, you have enabled us to stay Immaculate strong and to live our mission and look forward to continuing our efforts with an optimistic lens that we will be back to normal in the spring.

Have a wonderful Christmas and a very blessed new year.

With sincere gratitude,
