Mustang Monthly

Alumni Portal Will Launch February 28

On Thursday, February 28, Immaculate High School will proudly launch our new Alumni Portal! We are excited to support our 7,000 alumni by providing a private, password-protected site which will house an alumni directory. This is exclusive and free to IHS alumni only! You will now be able to connect with fellow classmates and network with Mustangs from across class years.

The directory will take time to grow as alumni follow the login instructions which will be sent on February 28 and update their information. Once in the portal, YOU have the ability to decide what information to include and make visible to fellow IHS alums.

Keep a lookout for your email Thursday, February 28 which will be sent to all alumni with valid email addresses in our database. If you are an IHS alumnus and do not currently receive emails from IHS, please visit www.immaculatehs.org/alumniupdate to ensure you receive the emailed login instructions for our new portal. If you have questions, please email Denise (Henry) Suarez’ 87, Director of Alumni Relations at dsuarez@myimmaculatehs.org. All alumni who log in to the new alumni portal by April 1, 2019 will be entered in to win an IHS alumni t-shirt and quarter-zip sweatshirt!

Career Day Keynote Announcement

We are pleased to announce that Major General Albert V. Lupenski will be our Keynote Speaker at this year’s Career Day being held on Friday, April 5. We are honored and excited that this distinguished IHS alumnus from the Class of 1980 will speak to the entire student body to kick-off this annual event.

Maj. Gen. Albert V. Lupenski is the Director, Air Force Reserve Plans, Programs and Requirements, Headquarters U.S. Air Force, the Pentagon, Arlington, Virginia. He is responsible for planning and programming a force of more than 70,000 personnel and the flying hours for 17 types of aircraft in combat air forces, mobility air forces, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance; tankers, training, weather reconnaissance and special operations. Plans, Programs and Requirements analyzes a $110 billion-per-year program that recommends and presents options to senior leaders and is the Air Force Reserve conduit for coordinating change with the chief of the Air Force Reserve to meet the needs of the Air Force.

General Lupenski was commissioned in 1985 through the Academy of Military Science at McGhee-Tyson Air National Guard Base, Tennessee. He has served in a variety of positions during his career in the Air National Guard and Air Force Reserve. He has flying experience in both rotary and fixed-wing aircraft, serving 14 years as an HH-3E and HH-60G pilot in rescue units in New York, Alaska and Florida. He began his career in fixed wing aircraft flying the C-141C and transitioned to the KC-135 and later to the C-17, C-40C and C-5B. Prior to his current assignment, General Lupenski was the Director, Air Force Reserve Plans, Programs and Requirements, Headquarters Air Force Reserve Command, Robins Air Force Base, Georgia.

"I am truly honored to be asked to be the IHS Career Day Keynote Speaker.  I have the greatest memories of my time as a Mustang. I look forward to sharing how my time at Immaculate prepared me for a career in the Air Force and helped shape the person I am today,” said General Lupenski.

At the conclusion of his address, students will then attend three breakout sessions hosted by over 25 professionals, largely alumni, to learn about various career fields and the experiences of our presenters. If you are an alumnus or parent interested in presenting at Career Day 2019, please email dsuarez@myimmaculatehs.org. We try to vary the types of speakers and career fields each year and will keep all requests we are not able to accomodate for this year’s event on file for future opportunities.
