Mustang Monthly

We have enjoyed having our students back in the building full-time. In celebration of their return, our Parent Association decorated the school with welcome back signs and balloons.  The celebrations continued as we congratulated all of our winter sports teams with special recognition to our girls basketball team for being named All SWC Champions and our Cheerleading team for winning All State. As all students prepare for the closing of the school year, spring season sports teams began their season strong and our thespians are completing their rehearsals and recordings of two productions, a drama  performance, MEDEA, scheduled for May 7-9 and our school musical, WE WILL ROCK YOU, scheduled for May 21-26. Also, stop by the Cyrenius Booth Library in Newtown to view a pop-up art show of our student work through May 1 as well as mark your calendars for our hybrid art show scheduled for May 9 and 10.

Our efforts to welcome new students and their families continues.  We hosted an April live Spring Preview Day for Grade 6 through Grade 10 students as well as live virtual Tuesday Tours to provide students and their families an opportunity to learn more about the school and to ask questions of teachers, administrators, parents and student ambassadors. We will be hosting a HSPT Pre-Test for Grade 7 students who are interested in taking the HSPT entrance exam in the fall. Do you know someone who wants to be a future Mustang? Invite them to watch informative videos and contact our admissions team.

We are so thankful for the continued support of so many of you these past few weeks. We have had alumni join in our virtual classrooms to present and share their professional experiences and knowledge on our annual Career Day. Also, we appreciate your help and involvement as we continue to provide for our families in need and are working to reach our Annual Fund goal for this year. We are profoundly touched by your uninterrupted kindness and generosity to Immaculate. For those of you who have yet to purchase a sponsorship to support our Light the Way Gala, please visit our events page.

Sally Wilson, Event Coordinator, and her Gala co-chairs have been working tirelessly to ensure a fun virtual event and we look forward to the opportunity to honor two remarkable individuals, Brian McGovern ’89 and John Capilli, Sr. for their commitment, service and generosity to Immaculate.

I invite you to join us at any or all of our special planned student fine arts events, spring sports competitions, and Light the Way Gala. I thank you, as always, for your generous support of all that we do at Immaculate.

We are a very blessed community,

Mary R. Maloney
