Mustang Monthly

The season of Lent at Immaculate began with Ash Wednesday Mass and has continued with daily penitential prayers and almsgiving efforts for the Dorothy Day Hospitality House, Mary’s Meals as well as our annual American Red Cross Blood Drive. Students, teachers and staff have had the opportunity to attend extended Adoration hours in the Chapel, and will be participating in Lenten Reconciliation as well as a Stations of the Cross presentation. We share our Wednesday reflections with you and welcome you to join us at any of our Lenten services.

At Immaculate, we care about, respect and support our students so that they can be confident in all that they do as a student and as a person. We know that they need us to recognize when they are challenged. In addition to our Student Advisory Program and counseling support services, we offer quarterly Awareness Programs for our students and provide resources for our parents. This quarter, a group from Breaking the Cycle addressed the students through personal accounts on the topics of healthy relationships, teenage depression, social violence and perseverance.

Our Mustang on the Road team will be heading to Chicago in April. We always look forward to seeing our alumni and friends of the school when traveling. If you can join us, we can be found at the Eleven Eleven Restaurant on April 24. Many thanks to Dr. Ian Smith ‘87 for helping us organize the get-together! For more details, please visit the Alumni News section of this Mustang Monthly edition about our Chicago visit as well as how you can stay connected using our new Alumni Portal.

A tremendous thank you to all of you who joined us at our Springtime in Paris Gala. The evening was filled with a lot of fun, including some great live and silent auction items to raise the funds needed to support our mission to provide an excellent Catholic college-preparatory experience for our students. Bidding is still open for a few more great packages, click here to bid. A warm congratulations to Carl ‘71 and Lauren Bailey, recipients of our Distinguished Service Award for their tremendous Danbury community service program, Grassroots Academy, which focuses on assisting elementary, middle and high school students with social, emotional and academic support; and to Denis R. Bouffard (posthumous) and his wife Rosemary for accepting the Lifetime Achievement Award on his behalf. Denis was a remarkable faith-filled individual who selflessly gave to others in the community, including being a revered religion teacher at Immaculate for 34 years. If you were unable to join us, there are still many ways for you to contribute. Simply click here to learn the many ways that you can make a difference for our students.

As we approach our Spring season, we wish our student-athletes, student vocalists and our student actors much success.
