Mustang Monthly

As we continue our 60th anniversary celebrations, we welcomed 2023 with an all-school Epiphany Mass celebrated by Father Tim Iannacone, Parochial Vicar of St. Edward the Confessor Church in New Fairfield, weekly Masses and Adoration celebrated by our school Chaplain, Rev, Philip Phan and many amazing student recognitions that we are proud to share in this monthly edition.

Every year we review our curriculum and programs to identify how we are supporting our students to best prepare them for college and beyond. We hosted our annual Alumni College Panel with members of the Class of 2022, who spoke with students about their experiences as well as provided some academic and program feedback to Administration. We appreciate their feedback and look forward to considering some viable enhancements to our 2023-24 course offerings.

We are looking forward to hosting an Accepted Student Night in February for the 130 students who were accepted into the Class of 2027. We also hosted a Scholar’s Mass and Luncheon for the 18 students accepted to the Class of 2027 as leading merit scholars who, collectively, will receive $131,000 each year for the next four years.  We are so pleased to welcome each of our newest Mustangs to our Immaculate family!

I had an opportunity to join our Mustangs On The Road team and was able to meet with a fabulous group of alumni from the DC Metro Area. It was fun having alumni from various decades get together for a great evening of reminiscing and reconnecting with each other. We are headed to Houston, TX on Wednesday, February 15 with plans for Dallas, TX as well!

Our Empowering Our Legacy Beyond Today campaign has raised $1.2M to date! The Advancement team and I thank those who have already committed to this campaign which will support our school program through updates to our facilities, including our track and athletic fields, as well as establish a scholarship endowment fund in the name of beloved former teacher, coach and principal, Robert E. Gerwien Sr. The time is now for everyone to join together so that we reach our $4M goal! To learn more about our campaign goals and objectives and how you can join in celebrating our 60 years of Catholic school excellence, please visit Our Empowering Our Legacy Beyond Today webpage.

The news shared in this edition of Mustang Monthly is a true reflection of the continued support of so many of our students.  Thank you for believing in Catholic school education and in Immaculate High School. We look forward to celebrating with our students, families, community leaders and pastors during National Catholic Schools Week January 30 through February 3. And, I look forward to seeing you at our 60th Anniversary Gala on March 25 and at our 60th Anniversary June 2-4 celebrations.

We are a blessed community,

Mary R. Maloney
