Mustang Monthly

This Advent season has been more than decorating our hallways and lighting our Advent wreath; it has been one of prayerful reflection, hope and joy.  In addition to students and staff participating in Advent Reconciliation, we celebrated our Blessed Mother’s Immaculate Conception Mass with our school Chaplain, Rev. Philip Phan. We also gathered together in prayer and remembrance on the tenth anniversary of the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy.

Our school community has exhibited creativity, courage, and an unwavering concern for each other.  Food drives, toy drives and adopting a family for Christmas, delivering toiletries to Catholic Charities and food to Faith Food Pantry and reading The Night Before Christmas story to elementary school students are some of the ways our students gave of themselves.  Our Music Department provided the spirit and joy of Christmas through song on Mondays in our hallways and our dining room and, our Inspire Choir performed at St. John Paul II Center, other local elderly care residences as well as at the Danbury Mall and local elementary schools.

In addition to giving to others, we have been busy celebrating our student accomplishments including student of the month, college acceptances, National Honor Society inductions, Commended National Merit scholars as well as accepting 126 new students to the Class of 2027 during our early admissions period. We will continue to offer rolling admissions for the Class of 2027 and transfer students. Over the winter break, our administrator team will be reviewing our academic program offerings for the 2023-24 school year. Our sports teams have begun their winter season; scheduled games and streaming information is available by visiting our school website, ciacsports.com or nfhsnetwork.com

During this season of giving, I would like to thank each of you who supported Immaculate in some way these past few months. Your generous donations to our community service collections, your volunteer hours and the many recent generous gifts to our Immaculate Fund and Adopt-a-Mustang Fund support our excellent academic programs and personalized learning opportunities for every student, helping us to educate the whole student.

On behalf of everyone at Immaculate, I wish each of you the joys, blessings and peace of Christmas throughout the new year.

With sincere gratitude,

Mary R. Maloney
