Around Campus
As our athletic program continues to grow, we continue to expand our facilities around campus. Be sure to read about our newly constructed Fitness Center! Read about our facilities in a recent blog HERE.
Fitness Center
Complementing the upgrade and maintenance of our Mustang Valley and Bobby Plumb Gymnasium, a new Fitness Center opened in August 2020. In-kind donations from alumni, parents of alumni and partner businesses as well as the efforts of the Immaculate facilities and operations staff have provided a facility that accommodates 25 new exercise machines, allowing for improved strength-training as well as offer individual fitness training for students and staff.
Baseball & Softball Fields
Our beautifully maintained baseball and softball fields have recently been upgraded with many field improvements including new bullpens, pitching mounds and dugouts. In the spring of 2017, a brand new electronic multi-sport scoreboard was purchased and installed near the baseball field to make it easy for fans to follow the game from the new bleachers behind home plate.
Mustang Valley
A renovated $1.3M athletic turf and track was installed in 2023. Mustang Valley is a fantastic outdoor athletic facility hosting our football, field hockey, soccer and lacrosse teams. Surrounding the field, lies our 400-meter track utilized by our Boys and Girls Track Teams. A concession stand, press box and seating for approximately 350 fans enhances the spectator experience.
Bobby Plumb Gymnasium
Our 800-seat gymnasium named after Robert Plumb, retired coach and 40-year veteran physical education teacher, is home to our Boys and Girls Basketball Teams and Girls Volleyball Team. Inside this bleacher lined gymnasium, walls are adorned with banners proudly displaying key athletic victories and championships throughout Mustang history.
Weight Room
The recently updated weight room plays a role in the physical and athletic development of our student-athletes. Students frequently utilize this space for strength training after school and during practices. All sport teams have equal access and use this room frequently to train for their season.
Golf Simulator
Our state-of-the-art indoor golf simulator allows our athletes to practice their swing all year round in the comfort of a designated space in our school. Immaculate’s Boys Golf Team competes in the fall, while the Girls Golf Team plays in the spring. This interactive simulator helps them track their scores and progress over time.
Baseball/Softball Cages
Our indoor and outdoor cages provide a controlled environment to work on swing mechanics, timing, and pitch recognition. Consistent practice in the cage helps build muscle memory, leading to more natural and effective swings. We have also found that regular cage work can boost a player's confidence at the plate, making them more comfortable in game situations. They allow for practice regardless of weather conditions, ensuring players can stay sharp throughout the year. They also provide a structured setting for coaches to implement specific hitting drills and provide individualized instruction.
Around Town
Immaculate utilizes the great city of Danbury and its plentiful facilities to enhance our athletics program. We thank our community for being such an important role in Immaculate Athletics.
Rogers Park, Danbury CT
Several of our teams take advantage of Rogers Park which is just one mile from our school campus. The complex is a 56-acre park with six baseball and four softball fields, a multipurpose turf field plus tennis, volleyball and handball-paddleball courts. Our tennis teams and baseball team use the facilities regularly.
Richter Park Golf Course
Richter Park Golf Course is the home to our Boys Golf Team, the Immaculate Mustangs. This course uses water in 14 of the 18 holes and has 49 renovated bunkers. The difficulty of the course creates great practice for our players, which enhances their skills. Not many high school golfers get the opportunity to play at a beautiful high quality course like this one.
Danbury Ice Arena
The Danbury Ice Arena is another fantastic facility at use for our student athletes. Former home of the Danbury Trashers and Danbury Whalers, it is now the home for our Immaculate High School Hockey Team. After renovations in 2004, the facility holds up to 3,000 people creating an exciting and professional environment for our students to play in.
Tarrywile Park
Immaculate Cross Country is fortunate enough to have their running trails across the street of the school. Tarrywile Park is a beautiful park that offers 722 acres of land and 21 trails. Being able to run these trails daily is convenient and creates a home field advantage for our runners throughout the season.
