CONNECTICUT SUMMER TRANSPORTATION INSTITUTE - 2026

RISING 10TH TO 12TH GRADE STUDENTS are invited to CENTRAL CONNECTICUT STATE UNIVERSITY

Learn about land, air, & water transportation in a fun and inspiring environment. Hands-on labs, field trips, welcome luncheon at Central, graduation ceremony at CTDOT, and more. This program is offered at no cost, and complimentary lunches will be provided. Two $1,000 scholarships are offered by the Connecticut Chapter of Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS). Please refer to the application package for details. Participants must arrange transportation to and from the program.

Summer River Research Program (RRP)

Fish and Invertebrate Study of Harbors (FISH)

This program runs every Friday (except holidays) and select Thursdays in the summer. Hop on board once or sign up for multiple trips to catch, identify, and release aquatic species in Norwalk Harbor or Saugatuck Harbor. Students will work with Harbor Watch staff and college interns to collect data about fish and invertebrate populations on our research vessel.
