College Preparation

Immaculate High School is committed to academic excellence. Every year over 99 % of our students continue their education and 95% attend their first-choice college. Our students' SAT scores regularly exceed national and State of Connecticut averages.

Our college preparatory curriculum prepares our students for further education and for life, and strives to develop the full potential of every student.

Honors & Advanced Placement Courses 

Twenty-seven Honors level courses in English, Social Studies, Science, Mathematics and World Languages are available for academically gifted students. Advanced Placement courses for college credit are offered to sophomores, juniors and seniors. Currently IHS offers AP in Biology, Calculus, Chemistry, English Literature, Spanish, U.S. History and Physics.

Our teachers maintain rigorous academic expectations in an atmosphere of support and compassion. The not only teach, they are committed and passionate role models for their students. Using their expertise and knowledge in specific subject areas, our teachers use a personalized approach to learning and living one’s faith. Their impressive academic credentials and years of teaching experience to their vocation of educating the whole student is exceptional.  Both our students and parents attest to the commitment and dedication of our faculty members.

Overview

The academic programs offered at Immaculate High School are designed to prepare the whole student for college and beyond. We offer an extensive, rigorous NEASC accredited program that exceeds the Diocese of Bridgeport and state curricula.

Students have an opportunity to enroll in numerous honors and AP classes as well as distance learning programs. Faculty and staff work together to create an engaging community that encourages students to develop and master the skills needed to become lifelong learners who live their Catholic faith.

The IHS Guidance Department provides numerous services to assist students with academic planning and support services so that they may exceed beyond their own expectations. Our extracurricular programs enhance classroom learning and allow students to expand their interests, broaden their experiences and to become global leaders.

As a result of our excellent academic offerings, our students have been recognized for maintaining the highest SAT scores in the Diocese as well as achieving beyond the national averages on both the ACT and SAT assessments.
