Nancy K Dolan Award Recipient

Kathleen D. Casey

Kathleen D. Casey proudly served as President of Immaculate High School from 2008 to 2014. During her tenure at IHS she enjoyed collaborating with dedicated board members, faculty, staff and volunteers, as well as cheering on the Mustangs and being a part of the Immaculate faith community, all of which continues to hold a special place in her heart!

Kathleen earned a BA from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1984 and an MBA from the American Graduate School of International Management in 1987. She worked ten years as a Business & Senior Strategic Planner for General Motors Corporation, where she was responsible for the marketing and strategic development of several key domestic and global business units. During this time Kathleen had the opportunity to study, work and live overseas; she continues to enjoy traveling abroad with her family to this day.

Kathleen began her career in academia as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Indiana, and “rode her children’s coattails” into Catholic education at Holy Redeemer Catholic School in Alpharetta, Georgia in 1999. After moving to Connecticut in 2005, she worked at St. Thomas Aquinas Elementary School as Director of Planning and Special Projects and as a French, Science and ELA teacher until she was named President of Immaculate High School. In 2014 Kathleen was appointed Associate Superintendent of Schools at the Diocese of Bridgeport to help advance the mission of diocesan schools.

Currently Kathleen is a Partner at Partners in Mission, consulting with administrators to develop leadership and advancement solutions for Catholic schools across the U.S. She feels she has been blessed to enjoy a rewarding 18-year vocation in Catholic education.

Throughout her adult life, Kathleen has volunteered in her community. She has served on numerous boards including the boards of the YMCA, the Early Childhood and Family Education Center and St. Thomas Aquinas School, and has taught religious education and served as Eucharistic Minister at Catholic parishes in Georgia and Connecticut. She continues to volunteer at her current parish, Our Lady of the Snows in Quechee, Vermont.

This past Fall, Chris and Kathleen moved to Vermont full time and are enjoying lots of skiing, tennis and golf. Their favorite times are when friends and family, especially their two grown children Dillon and Mac, come to visit. Kathleen continues to enjoy keeping up with the Mustangs and all the great things happening at Immaculate!
