Midnight Run Ministry of Immaculate High School
Midnight Run is a volunteer organization dedicated to finding common ground between the housed and the homeless. We begin each run at IHS at approximately 7:30 PM on a Friday evening where we prepare the food and clothing that we will take into NYC. We typically return to IHS at approximately 2:00 AM. We travel into New York City to predesignated stops assigned by the Midnight Run organization. At each stop we serve a hot food item and coffee as well distribute clothing, blankets, sandwiches and toiletry items. With each Run there is an opportunity for 10 - 12 of our students to participate. Our students benefit tremendously from the experience of serving others and interacting in an environment much different than their own.
The students are responsible for collecting and preparing clothing for the run, assembling food bags, toiletry bags and all supplies required for the run. The students load the vehicles at the start of the run and unload and reload at each stop. The students are encouraged to engage those visiting with us in conversation while serving them a cup of coffee or chili and providing them with clothing they need.
Thank you to all of the generous supporters of the Midnight Run Sponsor Program.
