Sponsoring a student's education is a truly unique life changing experience not only for the child but for you, the sponsor. At Immaculate, we have students whose families sacrifice much in order to provide their child an opportunity to attend Immaculate. Currently, the school budgets to provide approximately fifty-two percent of our students with financial assistance.

The purpose of our Annual Scholarship Breakfast is to assist the growing number of deserving students who benefit from our Catholic education environment, but whose parents struggle to meet their tuition obligations due to a hardship or low income. We were grateful for the many alumni in attendance at last year's breakfast. Please consider joining us this year! Tickets are $25 and many sponsorship opportunities and program book advertisements are available. Click below for more details or to register.

When: Friday, November 3, 2017 from 7:30am – 9:00am
Where: Amber Room Colonnade, 1 Stacey Road, Danbury, CT

I AM IMMACULATE FUND ~ IS YOUR NAME ON THE LIST?

ALUMNI DONOR RECOGNITION (FISCAL YEAR 7/1/16 - 6/30/17)

On July 1, we began a new fiscal year and a new annual fund goal of $240,000. It is not about the amount, but rather the participation of our alumni that counts. We hope that this is the year we make a BIG jump in the percent of alumni who give back at ANY level. Please look for an I Am Immaculate Fund letter in your mailbox in the coming weeks and join the movement in giving back to your alma mater. If your name was not on last year's donor recognition list (see "Alumni Donor Recognition" box at left), please consider making a donation this year. As you can see from this and other newsletters, we are working hard to serve our alumni and are grateful for your support. YOU are making a difference! Please accept our heartfelt gratitude for all you do for IHS!!

VETERAN'S TRIBUTE

Image

Many IHS alumni have served our country in the armed forces. We would like to know who you are! We know that we have also lost members of the IHS family while serving our country. If you, or someone you know, is now or has been in the military, we would like to hear from you. Please take a moment to fill out one of the forms below. We will be creating a listing of all alumni veteran's on our website.

On Thursday, November 9 at 12:45 p.m., we will be holding a Veteran's Tribute. This is a school wide assembly and will include patriotic music, veteran speakers and students sharing reflections of our veterans. Please RSVP below if you are able to attend. All alumni veteran's will be invited to a pre-assembly luncheon.

We look forward to having a Veteran's Hill of Honor in early November on the front lawn of our school, along Southern Boulevard. You can purchase a flag to be placed on the hill for $20. The name of the veteran being honored will be listed on a yellow ribbon on the flag pole. We encourage anyone in the IHS family to purchase a flag to remember a veteran in your own family, a friend, teacher, coach, or former classmate. Who will you honor? Please click the Flag Order Form below to order yours today!

We are truly proud of our alumni, staff and parents whose selfless dedication, bravery, and sacrifice to our nation is appreciated and remembered by Immaculate High School. Thank you for your service!

IN MEMORIAM
FATHER TOM HALKOVIC

Rev. Thomas Halkovic, CSC

July 1, 1944 - Sept. 9, 2017
Beloved former staff member of IHS and longtime Stonehill College Campus Minister, Rev. Thomas Halkovic, CSC, 73, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 9, 2017. Father Tom worked at Immaculate as a Guidance Counselor from 1978 to 1982 and as a director of guidance from 1982 to 1989. Pictured left at Father Tom's services are Mark Motyka '83, Mr. John O'Donnell and Jim Coffey '83. Jim shared, "Tough night for Mark Motyka and I, celebrating the life of Fr. Tom Halkovic, our friend, high school guidance counselor, teacher, and one of the most compassionate priests we have known." Father Tom came back to IHS recently for the 50th Anniversary celebration and will always be remembered for his dedication to the students he served. Countless alumni were saddened to hear the news of his passing and will long remember him fondly. A school wide Mass will be held at IHS on Friday, December 8 at 9:30 a.m. for the Feast of the Immaculate Conception and the intention of Father Tom. All alumni are invited to attend. Please email dsuarez@immaculatehs.org if you will be joining us.
