The next two games on tap will be the Men's Soccer and Women's Lacrosse! Join us next Saturday, June 10 in Mustang Valley. Click below to register today. There is no fee to play, but you must register.

If you are interested in coordinating a future alumni athletic event, please contact Denise (Henry) Suarez '87, Director of Alumni Relations at dsuarez@immaculatehs.org or (203 744-1510 x158. We would love to see some of our other teams hold events.

Immaculate's fiscal year closes on June 30th!  It is not about the amount, but rather the participation of alumni that counts. We hope that this is the year we make a BIG jump in the percent of alumni who give back at any level. If your name was not on last year's donor recognition list (click "Alumni Donor Recognition"), please consider making a donation to the I Am Immaculate Fund. As you can see from this and other newsletters, we are working hard to serve our alumni and are grateful for your support. YOU are making a difference! Please click the button below to show your support and accept our heartfelt gratitude for all you do for IHS!!

"I think the most valuable skills I gained at Immaculate were leadership and teamwork. The roles I held on sports teams and other extracurriculars have carried with me throughout college and continue today in running my company.  The community at Immaculate is also unparalleled at many other schools; I had tremendous role models and mentors, like my teachers and athletic coaches, and still remain close to all of my closest high school friends today."

Andrea Westervelt '10

Currently a PhD candidate in Mechanical Engineering, and the founder and CEO of an early stage healthcare start-up, Andrea admits that juggling both can prove to be quite time consuming, but she is doing it and we are so proud of all that she has accomplished since leaving IHS just 7 short years ago!

At Immaculate, Andrea was a member of the National Honor Society and Key Club, along with being captain of the varsity Soccer (3 state championships) and Lacrosse (1 state championship) teams. After graduating Immaculate, Andrea earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Clarkson University in Potsdam, NY and then received her MS in Mechanical Engineering from Columbia University. She is currently pursuing her PhD in Mechanical Engineering at Columbia, expecting to graduate in 2019.

In addition to pursuing her advanced education, Andrea is also the founder and CEO of an early stage healthcare start-up named Term Affirm. The new company seeks to provide solutions to preterm birth by providing an integrated diagnostic tool and patient-specific therapeutic medical device. They recently finished a biotech start-up accelerator and are starting pre-clinical trials in hospitals. Andrea also raises a service dog for the Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind and America's VetDogs, who after a year with Andrea will go into formal training to become a guide dog for the blind or a service dog for disabled veterans.

Congratulations, Andrea and best wishes for continued success! MUSTANG PRIDE!
